- About Me:
- I am a contract attorney who engages primarily in International & domestic transactions for businesses; especially businesses which are new to the expanding national or international market. Another area is the formation of legal departments within corporate structures for the first time. These involve companies which desire to streamline their dependence on outside counsel and develop their own legal representation in house and create an outside counsel management policy to greatly reduce costs and increase responsiveness to management.*
I am a former Chief Assistant Attorney General for The Office of The Attorney General for The Northern Mariana Islands,former Chief and General Counsel for Cabela's ,the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting & fishing gear,former Texas General Counsel for Holly Hills, a Long Beach, Ca. based commercial real estate company and Vice-President and General Counsel for Village Properties , a Tennessee based regional shopping center development company.
I have completed projects in Trinidad/Tobago, located in the West Indies during the months of June, July and August of 2008 as well as in the locations of Cairo, Egypt, Dohaa,The Kingdom of Qatar and Istanbul, Turkey during the months of february thru may and performed this work on site in those locations.
As recently as september,2008 I attended and participated in an International Law forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil .
In december of 2008 I was engaged in the finalizing of a contract with a leading consulting firm in Sofia , Bulgaria for negotiation and transactional projects on their behalf with United States suppliers, manufacturers and professional groups.This will be done during the months of November,2008 through the beginning of 2009 and this is an exciting opportunity as Bulgaria enters into the European Union and takes its place as a groundbreaking platform for economic growth & opportunity for the entire world to explore.
In April 2009 I was in Istanbul,Turkey creating and finalizing the transaction for a manufacturer of Turkish rugs for wholesale to the United States.Last week (April 1st through 8th ) I was in Jakarta & Bali,Indonesia for purposes of entering into a cooperative agreement for liason representation with an Indonesian Law firm for local clients interests in the United States.
* This endeavor of developing & structuring an in house legal department and the reduction of outsourced legal costs was a feature story in the National Law Journal , April, 2002 Edition entitled "Wild Kingdom , Cabela's GC Starts From Scratch"

- My Interests
- My hobbies are few, scuba diving, hiking ,exercise & reading but the more important and larger interests are humanitarian;homeless shelters, habitat for humanity and in Memphis Tennessee St. Jude's Children's hospital and The Father's House, a spiritual development and transitional housing center founded and directed by the Reverend Darnell Johnson ; because of this we contribute a significant percentage of our fees / income to these causes and leave it to the client's option to directly make this contribution,in any amount up to 100% of our costs of services at the onset of retaining us which allows them to both offset our fees for services as well as obtain the IRS charitable tax credit deduction .

David W. Hutton said… - Today I am in Ubud Indonesia , my second home and where I work oftentimes but I am relaxing with friends and hiking the famous Mt. Batur ,a 5,500 feet active volcano which I have climbed many times . This time my journey is a special one and will include a mountaintop session of prayer & meditation in my faith with a special thanksgiving to God for all he has given me.
