- About Me:
- Angela L. Ware is the former Project Director for the B&GC of Greater Ft. Worth’s Gang Intervention Program, the second largest gang intervention program in the country. During her six years as director she provided leadership for the daily operation of seven facilities, serving over 800 gang-involved youth ranging from 13 to 24 years of age. The Comin’ Up Project was initiated in 1994 in conjunction with the City of Ft. Worth and the Ft. Worth Police Department to address the escalating gang problem in Tarrant County.
Angela is currently a private consultant and independent trainer in the field of youth development, specializing in programs for High Risk Youth.
Ms. Ware is a National Training Associate for Boys & Girls Clubs of America for “Serving Teens Effectively” and “Community Connection: A Collaboration Workshop”, The CPI Institute for “Non-Violent Crisis Intervention” and in addition to these curriculum workshops Ms. Ware is a certified Dispute Mediator and Diversity Trainer.
Ms. Ware’s approach to youth development parallels her approach to diversity acceptance and appreciation. “If we can find our common ground, we can find our true selves. If we can diminish the fears that bring about misunderstanding, based on inaccurate societal influences, we can build and rebuild the greater purpose ordained upon our lives.”
