REAL MEN COOK for Charity-Dallas
REAL MEN COOK for Charity, is the largest, longest running annual, urban Father's Day event in the nation. It's an event with a purpose, that raised over $1,500,000 for charities in its history.
In the year 2008, our 19th Anniversary, REAL MEN COOK will again be held in 10 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.
I am 'peacock proud" that this is our ninth year in Dallas. We have prevailed. Our sponsors include American Airlines, the City of Dallas, KG Fashion Superstores, the South Dallas Fair Park Trust Fund and others.

REAL MEN COOK; a masterfully executed celebration of men for women, children, and the community is presented in 10 cities simultaneously on Father's Day. It's a fun-filled food festival honoring real men--fathers, brothers, uncles, coaches or teachers and dispelling the myth that Black communities lack positive male role models. You fit the mode and we are truly excited you have agreed to join the league of real men as a Honorary Chair in Dallas Texas , on Father's Day, Sunday June 15, 2008. This event is destined to become The National Urban Father's Day pastime in celebrating our African culture with a family reunion spirit.
Our celebrity hosts tentatively include Chef Jeff Henderson, www.chefjeffhenderson.com, Rockman Dunbar (Soul Food/Prison Break) and Marcus Patrick ( ABC All My Children).
Our honorary chairs include: Celebrity Rockmand Dunbar, TV/Radio Personality Rickey Smiley, ABC Soap Star Marcus Patrick, Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, Mayor Herbert Gears, Irving Mayor Pro Tem Allan Meagher, AAM Harry Robinson, AA Martin Burrell and others. Our goal is to have a full 13 honorary chairs for 2008.
Celebrities includes: CNN Roland Martin, Soul Food’s Darron Hinson, Urban League CEO, former New Orleans Mayor, Mark Morial, jazz legend Oscar Brown Jr., national radio personality Tom Joyner, Curtis Aikens from The Food Network and Actor Shemar Moore.
You're going to love it. It is a great place for your family to spend your special day with you. In addition to the hundreds of men serving thousands of attendees their tantalizing dishes, there is entertainment for the entire family from live music and more. Tickets for your family will be provided by Real Men Cook and also the charity of your choice can have the option to raise money with the sell of tickets to the event.
